having fun with Photography

Since it is kind of tough for an Old Man with a Camera to go out and take pictures on cold winter days, except during a snowstorm, I have been spending the last couple of months doing inside projects.  Below are the projects that I have worked on.  Click on the images to see the full-size image.  I have other projects to complete so keep coming back to see what is new.

Spiral Art

In this project, I hung a pin light from an apparatus and faced my camera towards the light.  I set the camera for 2 min. exposure and set the light in a rotating motion and these are the results.

Bubble Art

In this project, I created a solution of water, dish soap, and glycerin.  I let it set for 24 hours and then used a straw to create the bubbles and these are the results.  Note how the colors changed in the three pictures with the double bubble (which are all the same bubble).

Water Droplet Photography

In this project, I created a solution of water, milk and food dye.  The bottom bowl is where the action took place and above that was a jug with the same solution.  I opened the spigot on the jug to allow droplets to fall into the bowl solution with the following results.

Smoke Photography

In this project, I captured smoke from an incense stick to create these pictures.  The randomness of the smoke makes this abstract photography work.  The color was added in post-production.

Montage Photography

In this project, I created this image by taking a number of pictures across the landscape and let Photoshop create the montage.  I then put a drop shadow on each picture to make them look as if I printed out a number of pictures and lined them up on a whiteboard.

Multiplicity Photography

In this project, I created a scene that is interesting from the perspective and all the people in the scene look the same.  This took some work and quick change but it was fun.

lensball Photography

In this project, I created a number of pictures using a lensball.

Oil and water abstract photography

In this project, I created these abstract art images by shooting through oil droplets on water on glass with pieces of colored paper on the floor below .
