When I came upon the image above, painted on the front of this building, I was totally blown away by the beauty of the painting. This building is in the Bywater section of New Orleans and one of the first places Photographer David Speilman brought me and you can see why. The one thing that David taught me was when you look at a picture which is full of color you are looking at the “color” beauty of the image. When you strip away the color you see the real meaning of the picture. That’s what I love about B&W photography. Below are pictures which I have taken in New Orleans.
Buildings of New Orleans
These are a mixture of buildings in the Bywater, Lower Ninth Ward, north side of the city, Irish Channel and the Garden District.
